Blue Reef Fish & Chips @ Elit Avenue, Bayan Baru

There had been approximately 20 restaurants/cafes that been operating in this area – Elit Avenue (which is the commercial area right below the Elit Heights apartment/condominium). Blue Reef Fish & Chips, where their main branch is at Straits Quay, had been operating in this urban commercial area for approx. 2 months now (please correct me if I’m wrong). Blue Reef offers a huge varieties of seafood at pretty competitive prices as well (The word that I would always use would be ‘value for money’).

For the starter, I’ve ordered Seafood Clam Chowder and this is seriously good. The aroma of the soup does reminds me of the clam chowder that I used to have in United States. It came with 2 pieces of bread for dipping. Though it may be too hard, once dipped with the hot clam chowder soup, it tastes just perfect.

Next, I’ve ordered Spaghetti Seafood Pesto. The herbs and the spaghetti is pretty good, but it’s too oily to my liking. Once you downed approx. half of the plate, you’ll start to feel full as well as your mouth will be completely covered with oil. The amount of (olive?) oil used in this dish is too high. Overall, this dish is pretty good. The combination of herbs and spices does bring out the fragrance of the mussels and chickens.

Blue Reef

Breaded Tilapia Fish and Chips. A dish that I’ve consistently ordered for every visit to this wonderful restaurant. Something that would never go wrong. The breaded tilapia fish, together with the fries blend very well with the tartar sauce. Feel free to ask for second serving of tartar sauce, as the one that originally comes with the dish is pretty small (as you can see from the picture below).

Total bill comes up to RM68 (I don’t have a proper breakdown of each meal, and I would say it’s approx. RM20-RM25 per dish. Should have done my due diligence to update more precisely if I’m going to write this as a food blog. Haha).
